The younger years

Howie will always be young... but there were the days, or so we hear, when Howie lived large skiing, constructing and having fun.

Let's hear about some of those times!

  1. I grew up next door to Howell. I have many memories of the Powders. Getting drunk on White Russians, when I was well below the drinking age at some family party, going up to I believe the Catskills, to see someone who had a white house. Visiting with the cousins, Lori? I remember Howell or Glen, probably Glen jumping out of the closet at the white house and scaring the heck out of us!! I am so, so sorry for your loss. 2. I am a friend of Howell's from Tottenville HS and touched base with him through the years. He used to come to my house and steal my army pants to take to gymnastics camp in the summer. And while at my house he would tell my Grandmother dirty jokes - she loved him. He ate spaghetti with nothing on it and drank it with milk! We went to Great Adventures in NJ one summer - fun memories. I cannot image your sorrow, as I sit here over 35 years later crying for the loss of such a great, fun and crazy man. Please send my very sincere condolences to his wife, daughter, Mom and brother for me. Stacy Rennick-Borsuk

  3. I was the Captain of the gymnastics team at Oneonta State and a teammate of Howie's. I was very saddened to hear of his passing and apologize for the late comments, but I had to share with you how Howie's spirit, laughter, smile, amd love of life made him such a great teammate. He worked hard, played hard, and lived life to the fullest. My best memories are of his contagious smile in the gym, while traveling for meets, and when contributing to the local economy at any of the many watering holes in Oneonta, NY. Although we did not keep in touch as I graduated several years before him, I will remember his spirit always. God Bless to his family and friends.
